Joe Giampino
 1962-2011

Joseph S. Giampino (Joe), 48, of Raymond, ME, passed away February 16, 2011. Joe was born in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Carol Giampino. Joe graduated from Lyons Township HS in LaGrange, IL and attended College of Dupage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Joe married Pam Hageny in 1991 where they lived in Boston area and Windham, ME.

Joe was a managing partner at Fishjobs, Inc. and worked in the seafood industry. He was an integral part of Chicago’s Windy City Ultimate Frisbee league since 1980 taking him around the world. From 1980-1996, Windy City Ultimate captured four major championships; two club nationals’ titles (1983, '86); the World’s title ('84) as well as a Masters Championship (1996). In addition, Joe was named to the All Time Best Players list in 1984. Joe had a deep love of music that he expressed through playing and composing; he was involved in a wide array of musical projects.

Joe is survived by his three children: Rio Smith of New York, NY, Nicole Giampino of Windham, ME and Jack Giampino of Windham, ME; his parents Joseph and Carol Giampino of Western Springs, IL; sister Laura Giampino and partner Colleen Halloran of Chicago; brother Scott Giampino and partner Amanda Viereck; and his partner Nancy Lalancette.

Funeral service and mass werel held Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham, ME 04062. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either: A college trust fund for the Giampino children at TD Bank North, Windham, ME or the "Music Ministry Program" at Our Lady of Perpetual Help's Church, Windham, ME
